Founded in 1972 by Karol George, KE&G began as a homebuilder in Sierra Vista, Arizona. As Southern Arizona grew, so did the company, expanding into road construction, sidewalks, and site development before opening its Tucson office in 1982.
By the early 2000s, KE&G had moved to focus exclusively on heavy civil construction, focusing on transportation infrastructure, flood control, underground utilities, and site development for public and private clients across the Southwest.
In 2006, Karol George began selling the company to its employees through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP). By 2014, KE&G became 100% employee owned, creating a culture where every employee owner has a direct stake in the company's success.
Today, KE&G continues to grow throughout the Southwest. Expansion into Texas, the formation of Blue Diamond Legacy Holdings in 2024 to support employee ownership and future growth, the opening of our Alamogordo, New Mexico office, and the launch of our Commercial Division reflect our commitment to building stronger communities while Constructing Legacies.

KE&G Is Founded
Karol George founded KE&G in Sierra Vista, Arizona, building homes and laying the foundation for decades of growth.
Expanding to Tucson
KE&G opened its Tucson office, growing its reach and capabilities across Southern Arizona.
Infrastructure Updates
As demand grew, KE&G transitioned from residential construction to transportation, utilities, flood control, and site development.
ESOP Transition Begins
Karol George sold 49% of the company to employees, beginning KE&G's journey toward employee ownership.
100% Employee Owned
Employees purchased the remaining ownership, making KE&G a 100% employee-owned company.
Entering Texas
KE&G expanded into Texas, bringing its heavy civil construction expertise to a new market.
Building Our Future
Blue Diamond Legacy Holdings was formed to protect employee ownership and support long-term strategic growth.
New Mexico Expansion
KE&G opened its Alamogordo office, strengthening its presence across Southern New Mexico.
Commercial Division Launches
KE&G expanded its services with a Commercial Division, delivering projects from site development through vertical construction.
