This award-winning project included three miles of existing arterial roadway widening and improvements, one half-mile of new roadway in the form of at-grade ramps and existing arterial intersection (converted to five lighted intersections), incorporating indirect lefts and at-grade ramps. This high-profile project is located on the most heavily used state route in Pima County and was delivered on an accelerated schedule. Given the budget constraints and a concurrently scheduled new Amazon distribution facility abutting the entire southeastern quadrant of the project, communication was vital to discussions, brainstorming resolutions and planning.
